Coconut Cottage is your laid back, self-catering home on the beach in Placencia Village, Belize on the Caribbean Sea.
The original Coconut Cottage was opened in March 1995 by fly-fishing legend Joel Westby and his US born wife Kay for Joel's fishermen. When Joel died in 1996 Kay stayed and has been running the place ever since. In October 2001 Hurricane Iris destroyed the original cottage which was then replaced with the current buildings in Feb. 2002.
There is one nicely appointed cottage for rent and Kay lives in the other with her kitties, Fifi and Baby Beluga. If you enjoy cats they will be delighted to be your vacation pets! If not they will stay home with Kay.
