Ecologica Belize - Punta Gorda

EcoLogica Belize is a nonprofit, goodwill project intended to promote Sustainable lifestyle, which is achieved by maintaining sound physical and mental health.
Physical health focuses on caring for our own bodies with an emphasis on growing and consuming local, organic foods, which would give ripples on the water creating healthy local communities through positive change in economy, environment and sustainability.
Mental health revolves around community care, culture, and creativity. How can we work together to ensure positive vibrations within our own communities?
In first hand we are a learning center and in second hand a Co-Op business with many branches in local, organic production to stimulate economy in southern Belize.

agriculture techniques to local youth from a small permaculture farm in Southern Belize. Our free, on-farm classes on ecology, permaculture, organic growing, herbal medicine, and nutrition are based on student participation and experiential learning.
All produce grown and manufactured within Co-Op EcoLogica Belize is transported to our Health is Wealth restaurant and Eco-shop in nearby Punta Gorda. These businesses, together with a future Eco-B&B, are the driving economic forces behind the EcoLogica Belize project and provide local farmers with a market to sell organic produce. We also offer healthy cooking classes at our restaurant, which are both built into our education program and available to tourists.
We have worked to ensure that our Health is Wealth restaurant is a venue for the exchange of knowledge, creativity, and culture. As such, we host weekly musical performances, art shows, documentary films, relevant discussion etc.
Visitors are welcome to tour EcoLogica Farm on designated visitor’s days to learn more about our organizational goals and how we plan to accomplish them. Guests are encouraged to participate in any production, construction, planting, or composting operations being undertaken on the farm at the time. Of course, visitors are always welcome at Health is Wealth restaurant for a delicious organic meal, an interesting discussion, or health advice.
All work opportunities created by EcoLogica Belize is first handed to youth from nearby areas to stimulate the local economy.
We aim to spread the idea of sustainable lifestyle not only throughout Belize, but worldwide.
